How do I add my books?

Open Library and tap Add, then pick audiobooks or ebooks (EPUB) from your phone. Lantern & Leaf remembers your place in every one, and they play and open offline.

How does Glow-along work?

Glow-along needs a book you have as both an audiobook and an ebook. The first time you open it, the app prepares the book in the background: it listens to the audiobook once, on your phone, to learn where each sentence is spoken. You can keep using your phone meanwhile; a notification shows the progress. Glow-along follows English narration for now.

I bought the supporter extras. How do I get them on a new phone?

Sign in to the same Google account on the new phone and install Lantern & Leaf from Google Play. The extras open on their own the first time the app starts. If they don't, open the "Keep the lantern lit" page from Settings once.

Can I get a refund?

Purchases go through Google Play. Within 48 hours you can ask for a refund on Google Play yourself (Play Store, your profile, Payments & subscriptions, Budget & history). After that, write to us and we'll help.

The sleep timer: how does it work?

Set it from the player and put the phone down: the voice fades out gently when the time is up. Shake the phone to add ten minutes. In the morning the app may offer to go back to where you drifted off.

How do I use it on my TV?

Install Lantern & Leaf on your Android TV from Google Play. To bring your books across, open Settings on the TV and on your phone, choose to pair, and confirm the six-digit code. Both need to be on the same Wi-Fi. Your phone can then act as the TV's remote.

How do I use it in the car?

Connect your phone to a car with Android Auto and open Lantern & Leaf from the car's app list. You'll find Continue listening, your library, series and downloaded books. Books play best in the car once they're downloaded.

The app crashed. What do I do?

Open Settings: a card at the bottom offers Send crash log. Send it to 16drewk@gmail.com and say what you were doing. The log has no personal details in it, and nothing is sent unless you choose to.

Which phones does it work on?

Android 8 and newer phones and tablets, Android TV and Android Auto.

How do I delete my data?

Everything lives on your device, so uninstalling the app removes it, or clear the app's storage in Android's settings. There's no account and nothing kept on our side. See the privacy policy.
